"Is it a matter of opinion or just a contradiction but from where I come from all the blondes have more fun..."

I have to admit my weekend as a blonde was a lot of fun!!

While I wait on my friends to send me pictures from this past weekend (I really have to get better about taking out my real camera!) Here are the few pics I snapped on my iPhone from Saturday night and today at work. I'm starting to get use to this hair color again!

I was so busy on Saturday night finalizing all the details and getting everyone registered for our WAKA mid-season party that this is the only good picture I got of my costume. My best friend Bailey dressed as the Queen of Hearts and she looked amazing! I can't wait to share some much better pictures.

"We elves try to stick to the four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corns and syrup.."

Hands down this was my favorite costume of the whole night! I just wish this one wasn't so dark.

Gaga, ooh lala...

2 Things...

(1) I think I'm about to have some big BIG changes coming up in my life very soon that I cannot wait to blog about. Next week I hope to be able to share more info on that.

(2) I'm going to attempt to make a vlog this weekend (video blog for those not down with bloggy world lingo) I have a few friends who read who have asked how I curl my hair so I am going to attempt to make a video to show you! I call it my Real Housewives hairdo...

This is the best picture my iPhone could provide me with this morning...but you get the idea!

Friday Fancies- Halloween

Today I'm linking up with AV at Long Distance Loving for Friday Fancies -Halloween Edition!

Even though I am very excited about going out on the town as a blonde tomorrow if I could pick any Halloween costume in the world to be this year...

I think I would have to pick this buxom cartoon character....

I may not be able to pull off those curves but I can certainly pull off that red hair!!

Weekend Update-Homecoming 2011

I can't put into words how wonderful this weekend was so I'll the pictures do the talking...

Katers,
Thank you for letting me stay at your house, for personalizing my new "wine" bottle, for letting Carter spoon with me, for introducing me to the best coffee ever made, putting up with constant picture taking, and for taking me to Klondike even though I know you didn't want to. I love you so much and miss you every day!!

Love, Sarah

Friday Fancies...

AV at Long Distance Loving is thinking PINK today in honor of breast cancer awareness month. While I don't particularly love wearing pink I will do anything for my grandma who is a 2x breast cancer survivor!

Breast Cancer Awareness

Boone Bound...

I'm pretty excited about spending some quality time with this lady tonight...

and visiting some old stomping grounds. I know it doesn't look like much but some of my favorite memories were made with my best friends here.

There's just something about this little mountain town that makes me really happy.

Now if I can just make it through the work day!

Control Freak...

When this little critter crawled in bed with me 10 weeks ago I started a roller coaster ride that I never ever imagined would go on as long as it has. It began with a trip to the WakeMed ER early on a Sunday morning and starts to end tomorrow at the wound clinic at Duke Raleigh Hospital.

For the past 6 weeks my surgeon has told me that my leg is slowly improving but not healing. To say that I have been frustrated would be an understatement. So many Thursdays after my appointments I've come into work crying because I was either just really sad or in a lot of pain.

My family will attest to the fact that patience has never been my strongest quality. With a lack of patience comes the feeling that I need to be in charge of what is going on in my life. I learned very early on in this spidey experience that how my leg heals is completely out of my control.

Even though I have no control over this situation, or many others in my life, I believe that God does. I believe that God has heard my prayers when the pain is really bad and I can't sleep at night and has given me strength when I just feel completely defeated. Even more than that though I believe that God has put people in my life to help me through this experience like my surgeon and some really special friends who have taken care of me.

So, here's to hoping my purse can finally stop looking like I robbed a medical supply store! See ya' gauze pads, non-stick sterile pads, ace bandages, athletic tape, and $100 tubes of medicine!

Thanks to modern technology my leg and I officially start down the road to recovery tomorrow!

...and thank you to the newborn baby whose parents offered up part of his junk so that I may heal :)

"Bless Our Farm..."

Last night marked the 5th year I've attended the NC State Fair. I think my love and anticipation for the fair grows stronger every year. If you're into people watching, fried food, spending money on ridiculously rigged games, and the smell of a farm then you will certainly not be disappointed!

I guess the fair will always have a special place in my heart. Back in 2001 I may or may not have been crowned Miss Caldwell County at my local fair.

(Mom, thanks for texting me this picture!)

These days I take a slightly different approach when attending the fair....

BINGO!

Even though I was really sad I didn't win, I'm really happy that Brook did!!!

No home is complete without a sign that says "Bless our Farm"

Classy....

Until next year NC State Fair...I'll be missing you and all your fried goodness!
